First Visit

Consultation

On your first visit to Geske Chiropractic in Costa Mesa, you will be welcomed and the receptionist will greet you with a warm smile. You will then be asked to fill out the required forms which will help us gain some information about yourself and your condition. You will then watch a short video about chiropractic care.

Dr. Dean A. Geske will then talk with you and ask you some specific questions regarding your condition to determine if chiropractic care may be of benefit to you. It is an opportunity to express your health concerns and expectations and ask the doctor questions you may have pertaining to the matter. If Dr. Geske can help you, he will let you know. If Dr. Geske cannot help you, you will be referred to a doctor that will be able to help you the most. Nothing will be done in our office without your consent.

Examination

After a thorough consultation with Dr. Geske, you will have a complete chiropractic examination. A careful spinal examination will be performed to determine any structural or functional abnormalities. This will include standard orthopedic, neurologic, postural, and physical examinations. The doctor will gain valuable information regarding your condition so that he can see if/how chiropractic can help you best. If necessary, the doctor may take X-rays or refer you for additional testing procedures.

X-ray

Complete x-ray studies may be required to get a full evaluation. The X-rays allow analysis of the spinal column.  The radiation dose is low; however, x-rays should be avoided during pregnancy. Dr Geske is trained in determining bone alignment from x-rays. This information is used to aid in making a specific spinal correction.

Report of Findings

Once all the information and examinations have been performed, Dr. Geske will give you a report of findings and tell you recommendations for treatment. Usually, this report happens on the second visit.
